After an Abortion–Taking Care of Yourself
As we see patients each day, we note that many women have questions and concerns regarding their health–both physical and emotional, after an abortion.
Here are some ways to take care of yourself after an abortion*:
Eat healthy food.
Get plenty of rest.
Drink lots of water and other healthy fluids.
Wait at least one week before engaging in any strenuous exercise.
Avoid lifting heavy objects for a week.
Take all of the antibiotics that were provided to you.
Avoid vaginal insertions for at least two weeks. This includes sex and tampons.
