What To Do if You Think You’re Pregnant
If you are pregnant or suspect you might be pregnant, the worst thing you can do is nothing. This is a time to learn about all of the available options, speak with reproductive professionals and perform some introspection. If you are even slightly suspicious you might be pregnant, here is what you should do.
Take a Home Pregnancy Test
Though home pregnancy tests are not 100 percent reliable, using one will put your mind at ease. Take a home pregnancy test and you will no longer have to worry about a potential pregnancy. However, you still might not be completely sure as to whether you are pregnant. You can take a second home pregnancy test or visit with a medical professional to find out for sure if you are pregnant.
Meet With a Medical Professional
The best way to determine if you are pregnant is to meet with a doctor. This medical professional’s analysis will prove more accurate than a home pregnancy test. Once you have had a professional analysis performed, you will know for sure whether you are pregnant. From here, you can spend some time thinking about how you would like to proceed.

Do not make a rushed decision. Review all of your available options before moving forward. Consider scheduling an appointment with Your First Look. Go to Bed Earlier
Head to bed a bit earlier than usual in the days and weeks after you learn you are pregnant. You might find it difficult to reach REM sleep in these stressful days. Hit the hay at least a couple hours earlier than normal. This way, you can toss, turn and count sheep without immediately reaching a restful sleep and not feel bad as those extra hours are available for you to unwind. Regardless of how you proceed after learning you are pregnant, this extra sleep will help your body and mind stay fresh.
Keep a Level Head
This is not a time to withdraw from family and friends. Do not get too high or low regardless of how you proceed. In the end, you have the final say. So don’t let others influence your thoughts. Maintain a level head and you will make the best decision.
Mind Your Health
Regardless of how you proceed, you should pay particularly close attention to your health. Get plenty of sleep after you find out you are pregnant. You will think more clearly when you get at least 8 to 10 hours of sleep each night.
So don’t let the stress of this decision wear down your body or mind. Continue to exercise, work, sleep and live life. Maintain a healthy lifestyle and you will emerge in better shape regardless of what you decide to do.
