If you’re considering abortion, you need answers to some very important questions—Is this pregnancy viable? How far along am I? Do I have an STD? We can answer all of these questions for free at Your First Look.

A pregnancy test shows elevated hormones. You’ll need an ultrasound to confirm that the pregnancy is viable and in your uterus. Since about 31 percent of pregnancies won’t carry to term due to miscarriage, blighted ovum, ectopic pregnancy, etc., it is important to find this out before you schedule an abortion.

How far along you are will determine the type of abortion you would have. Using an ultrasound, we can determine how far along you are. There are two types of abortions in the U.S.: surgical (in-clinic) abortion and the abortion pill (chemical/medical abortion). During your appointment we can provide you with information on both types of abortions and their costs to help you in making an informed decision. We are here to answer your questions and concerns.

Finally you will want to be tested and, if necessary, treated for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea before you have an abortion. Having either of these two sexually transmitted diseases will increase your risk of developing Pelvic Inflammatory Disease to 25 percent following an abortion. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease can lead to life-long health consequences. We offer free testing for these two sexually transmitted diseases.

At your appointment, all your options will be presented. We will also give you a personalized solutions assessment with lots of community resources. Unlike other agencies, Your First Look does not benefit financially from your decision.

Your First Look Women’s Center provides free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds to confirm viability, and information on all your options—abortion, adoption, and parenting. We do not provide or refer for abortion services. All services are free and confidential.
